Ivan Sokol - University of Ljubljana, Slovenia - Finance Intern

``My tasks included supporting the team in building various reports for the purpose of financial planning, quarterly reporting and monitoring, and other forms of financial analyses. During the internship, I mainly refined existing skills but also learned about company culture and routine processes. Also, the support has always been excellent from all the colleagues and managers I have contact with.  The most pleasant part of my work life was being given a task and complete freedom in approach of solving this task. I also enjoyed meeting new people and exploring new cities, however the most difficult part was being away from home.  Before the internship, I had concerns about possibly not being happy with the work and the colleagues, but everything turned out to be perfect, and much better than I expected. I would recommend to new trainees to use this experience for meeting new people and creating a strong network.``

``During my internship, I did order and invoice processing, customer service and learned how to use SAP and salesforce. My colleagues have helped me a lot from the very beginning and it has been perfect. Moreover, what I liked the most about Slovakia is the nature that can be found in any part of the country or even in the city. The most pleasant part of my experience was the ease of travel, my colleagues, and the working environment. Before the internship, my concern was that I would not be comfortable in the country, but I have been great, and very happy. In my spare time I have traveled a lot as it was quite easy, there are many options. That is why I would recommend for the newcomers to take advantage of the weekends to visit new places and travel.``

``My responsibilities were to support the Finance Team with tasks, reports, and preparing monthly forecasts. I also collaborated with the respective functional teams, prepared Ad-Hoc reports, and ensured financial reports were delivered on time. During this experience, I learned a lot including BMC topics, Opex Topics, processing invoices in the Invoice Only System, prepared Deferred Reports and Deferred Amortization Reports.  The support from my mentor and colleagues was all the time, the manager at the company took a lot of time to teach me and taught me new things. The whole Finance Team was very supportive throughout my whole stay. They gave me the opportunity to learn and participate in all team meetings even if I didn't understand everything they helped me to understand.  The most pleasant part was my work experience and team meetings. During my free time, I was travelling, working out and going out with friends. So I recommend to new interns to have fun during this experience.``
