Jeremy, a young man from France, decided to change his career after years of experience in real estate. It was then that he decided that an internship in Bratislava could be the perfect opportunity to open up new perspectives. We found him an internship as a Customer Service for the French market in a Slovak branch of a global company that provides centralised, efficient and cost effective financial accounting and transaction services for geographically diverse clients across the world.
From the very beginning, Jeremy found the internship process to be very smooth. He shared with us his feedback "You gave me a great opportunity to come here and focus on the work that I had to do. So essentially, I didn't have any problems before I came here. When I arrived, it was also quite easy, everything was under your control. And then I also found out that I was in a good team, in a good company."
During his internship, Jeremy had the opportunity to develop new skills in customer service. He processed orders, answered questions, and ensured the smooth operation of French customers. "It was stressful at first," he admits, "because I had to do the work and also get used to the software and know-how". But he quickly found his feet thanks to the support of his team. "My team has been very helpful in helping me with any issue and any problem".
Coming from a fast-paced real estate background in a smaller city, Jeremy found the work culture in Bratislava to be a welcome change. "The way the people work here was probably less stressful than what I was used to," he observes. "Also working in the company I was in was really fun because it was much bigger than the company I was before. So the corporate culture is really different. There are more events. Company has a lot of employees so we met a lot of nice people during those events."
The internship wasn't just about work for Jeremy. Bratislava's location and ease of travel to other European cities allowed him to explore the region during his free time. "Bratislava is a capital city, so there are a lot of things to do," he says. "Slovakia is a really, really nice country and also the location of the city, not that far from other capital cities like Vienna or Budapest, also Prague is not that far by train, so when you're here you have the best of everything, I guess I could say."
Overall, Jeremy's internship experience was positive and helped him gain valuable skills and a new perspective. "I'm not sure about what I'm going to do next," he reflects, "but for sure it's gonna be helpful because now I have another experience in another field, which is not real estate. Also, experience abroad is always helpful regarding the practice of the English language. So basically, I'm sure it's gonna be helpful 100% for sure."
For anyone considering an internship in Bratislava, Jeremy's advice is clear: don't hesitate. "If it's run by you, they can be free of any doubt," he assures potential interns, referring to how our team facilitated his internship. "There is nothing to be afraid of, so just come and see and try, basically."
We believe that we have helped Jeremy gain new skills and experience that will help him become an even more competitive candidate in France or any other country. We wish him to find his dream job and pursue a successful career.
