Today we want to share with you our accomplishments. We'd love to tell you a bit more about where the project for Ukrainians came from, how it became possible, and the progress we've made over the years. Thanks to the possibility of transferring part of our EU grant (for our KA 131 projects) to supporting incoming students from Ukraine after the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022 on the territory of this country, we decided to use this opportunity and create a unique project to help students from Ukrainian Universities to come for the Erasmus+ internships in Slovakia.
Since the start in 2022, we have hosted over 40 students and have many successful stories about helping them move forward in their lives and careers. Here you can find the article about it. We are really proud of what we do, how much we can change the lives of these young people and the positive results and feedback we receive. No one tells a better story about the internship experience than the interns themselves. And we give a couple of examples of how our guys feel after their internship in Slovakia.
Kateryna Hrek - Transportation specialist from Sumy State University.
What was the most pleasant part of your work life?
“It`s hard to choose only one pleasant thing of work life because there are several small things which bring joy. Beginning with some small coffee breaks with colleagues and end with figuring out work tasks which at first seemed unbearable.”
Vladyslava Ivchenko - Business coordinator from Kyiv National Economic University
Have you learned something new in your field during your internship? Describe in more detail acquired skills and competencies.
“Absolutely! I improved my business communication skills, gained speaking confidence, I was taught how to use different MS Office applications, had cross-functional working experience, and multi-department communication. I also learned how to work with clients, how to build the bridge between partners-agency-clients. And received a deep understanding of developing web platforms in a team working environment and I became a good team member very easily :)”
Khrystyna Bazyuta - Finance Controller from Ternopil National Technical University
What did you find the most interesting thing about Slovakia? Did you notice any cultural differences between Slovakia and your home country?
“Slovakia is an incredible country with rich culture, understanding people and beautiful places. My favorite thing about Slovakia is that it’s very similar to Ukraine in terms of culture. But there are some differences like people are more open-minded, good location right in the middle of Europe and a lot of opportunities to travel”
Liliia Pererva - Business coordinator from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
What was the most pleasant part of your Erasmus+ internship experience in Slovakia?
“Trip to the High Tatras, the first meeting of all Erasmus interns on Tyrsak, teambuilding in my company, spending time with friends here on festivals and concerts, trips.”
Kateryna Hovtvianytsia - Payments and Receipts specialist from Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics
How would you describe the overall support from your mentor and your colleagues in your company?
“The team and TL were great. They support me and explain everything about tasks. Friendly and kind people, who always were ready to help me with all my questions.”
Behind each small passage of this phrase is the story of a student who decided to change their life, was not afraid of new challenges of fate, and passed this way to get closer to the fulfillment of his dreams and a brilliant career future. If you are a student of a Ukrainian university who also wants to try your hand, we invite you to fill in our application form to start the selection process.
